Tagalong Tuesday - For Love of a Library

As I was searching blogland for some cool blogs this morning, I came across one that is running an awesome blog challenge. I was so impressed by the possibilities of this catching on to other bloggers, that I've decided to focus on just this one blog today. Here's the challenge and the links:

I found this on Taffy's Candy . . .

For every commenter on this post between now and 27, I will donate $1 (one dollar) to my local library, which is Pleasant Grove Library. How easy could it be? You comment, I cough up the money, the library gets a gift! If you don’t know what to say in your comment, “I love libraries” will do. Note that my pledge is “per commenter”—so if a single person leaves 50 comments, that still only counts once! But you can do more by spreading the word ... please link to this post, tweet about it, and send your friends here so they can comment and raise more money. If you’re moved to make a flat-fee donation to your library, or to start your own challenge, you are quite welcome, and please leave that information in the comments. For a complete list of participating bloggers (and to visit other sites where you can help libraries just by leaving a comment!) visit the writerjenn blog at http://writerjenn.livejournal.com/

AND . . . in the spirit of supporting our local libraries, I will donate one old fashioned GREEN BACK to The Kimberly City Library for each person who comments on my blog from now until the 27th of March. Come on, folks. Join in the fun. If you'd like to make a donation to my local library, please let me know in the comment section and leave an email address where I can contact you.

  1. What a great idea! So, do you actually want people commenting? It could get pretty pricey! Lol!

    Good luck!

  2. Wow! I saw that over on Taffy's blog. What brave women you are. I was thinking of doing it too, but my budget is so tight right now, I'm not sure I could handle it. But good luck to you!

  4. Thanks, Christine!
So if I comment on your post and you have already commented on mine, do we cancel each other out? LOL

  6. Good for you for also doing this challenge! I already contribute so much money to our local library by all of the late fees that my kids and I accumulate! ;) I swear that we will do better with this and it adds up again...sigh.

  7. Ummm...yeah, well. The whole budget thing is going to get me in trouble when my hubby sees this, but hey, I can always make payments to the library each month if it gets to be too much. Worthy cause. LOL

  8. haha! Gotcha! Can I leave, like, a hundred comments?

No? Well, I'll just tweet it instead ;)

  9. You can leave as many comments as you want, but it's one dollar per person, so it won't make me pay anymore. I'm tricky that way.

  10. I'm all about the books!

    What a nice thing you're doing. :)

My blog would only pull in about $5, if I were lucky! I'll help you give away your money, though. :D

  11. Great idea. I noticed that Sydney Salter Hussman, president of Utah's SCBWI chapter is doing something similar. You ladies are awesome. We just have to read and chat and you do all the work.

  12. If I could remember the Camp Caribou Library Song I'd sing it for you. I know one verse said, "I'm goin' to the Library. Gonna whap some learnin upside my head,". Stellar lyrics, eh.

  13. This is such a noble idea. Our libraries can use all the help we can give them. Future generations will appreciate it, Christine. =]

  15. What a cool thing! I would go broke, though. I mean, seriously. I have bills to pay... But I am going to donate something to my local library.
