Autism runs in my family too! Very worthy cause here.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful post, my son is a carer in a home for the adult autistic and though the pay is not too good finds it very rewarding, he himself had cancer 4 years ago so feels he is giving something back to the world.
ReplyDeleteA most worthy and important subjectg to write about,
Good luck with the challenge.
Yvonne,
My friend's son has autism. I don't know him myself, but I've listened to his story and his achievements from her POV - she's so proud of him, and with good reason!
ReplyDeleteMy friend's son has autism also, great to see your post about this!
ReplyDeleteMy nephew has autism. What a great way to start out the A-Z blogfest!

ReplyDeleteYay!!!! This was awesome. I love that you used A to support a fabulous cause and I hope it touches several people's hearts. Just as you have touched mine.

I once babysat a girl with autism. She was a great challenge, but somehow I was the one person she sometimes connected with. It went so far that her parents began to dislike me because of that.
ReplyDeleteI love how you use your first A to Z post for such a wonderful cause.
Am an AtoZ'er, breezing in to say hi!
A great cause Christine.
ReplyDeleteYes, yes i do love someone (many someones) with autism.
ReplyDeleteautism touches a lot of people's lives ... we need to value the people in our lives!! :)
ReplyDeleteMy nephew is a successful college student (forestry) and just passed with flying colors all sorts of zoology, botany, etc. classes. He was identified with autism at 2 yrs. old, and it was expected to be institutionalized. But my tenacious sister fought for him, and reached into him.
ReplyDeleteAutism is all around us. Some of us knew what it was; most thought that the person was just crazy.
Thank you for opening your heart for us.
Yes I certainly do! My nephew is the sweetest boy I know...and brings so much joy to everyone's life. I also want to shout out to Easter Seals, who have been a big support to our family.
ReplyDeleteI know a few of autistic people, 2 family members and 2 wonderful young men in our area with TERRIFIC parents and lots of support through family and friends....I still remember the movies with Josh...I will all my life...JOHN IS AWESOME!!
ReplyDeletebest group date I ever had!
I have a grandson who is autistic. He has now graduated from high school. He is a smart kid, just doesn't like people very much. I love him dearly.

ReplyDeleteThis is a GREAT cause. My cousin has three children and all three have autism--two are very severe.
ReplyDeleteThe parents of autistic children carry such an important load. They can truly make a difference as I'm sure you do. Keep up the hard work.
