I'm Still Dreamin'

I love the moon and I love to dream. When I was little I used to make wishes on the moon instead of the stars. It just seemed logical to me that the bigger the object in the sky, the better chance that a dream wished on it would come true.

I still wish on the moon.

Maybe it has to do with being born under the astrological sign of Cancer--a moon child. Or maybe it's because we traveled a lot and always drove at night because it was cooler. I'd watch the moon out the car window and it seemed to follow me wherever I went. I think that's when I fell in love with it.

Recently, I've been doing a lot more wishing on that moon. With the economy taking its toll on our restaurant and me feeling the pressure of needing to contribute to my family financially, I've considered getting a REAL job and putting my writing aside for a time. But then I think of how I've put it aside for over twenty years and it just breaks my heart to even think about postponing it again. After all, I'm not getting any younger.

So, here's my wish on the moon: I wish that someone out there--an agent and/or a publisher--will happen upon my book and believe in its potential as much as I do. I wish they would believe in me as much as I believe in myself and want to share in my dream of being a published author. And I hope above all things, that I'm ready when it finally happens.

What do you wish? What one thing do you want more than anything else?

  1. I hope your moon wishes come true. You deserve them.

For years I had the same wishes as you do now. It will happen, just keep believing. :)

  2. I hope your wish comes true. I think your book sounds wonderful! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for you. My own wish is pretty much the same as yours.
