GREAT Writers Conference

I just got back from the LDStorymakers Writers Conference in Provo, Utah and had a WONDERFUL time. There were over 450 attendees this year, and the place was packed. I remember the first time I went and it was held in the "Little Brown Theatre." I think there were MAYBE 75 attendees that year, it was ONE day and I thought it was GREAT. The Storymakers have done such a wonderful job with all the conferences and I applaud them.

FRIENDS: Oh, my goodness . . . I AM A RICH WOMAN! I lost count of how many people tracked me down just to say hello and give me a HUG. It was so wonderful meeting all my Facebook friends and making new ones. I have to say that the biggest hugs had to come from L.T. Elliot and Keith Fisher. They really lifted my spirits. But everyone else kept me up. I don't think I would have made it through the conference if it weren't for each and every one of you. THANKS!!

CONTEST: HOLY COW!! I took first place in the 1st chapter contest in the category of "Women's Fiction/Romance," with my novel, "Forever In My Heart." How cool is that? I was totally blown away. And YES, I heard each and every yell, scream, whistle and WOOT from all my friends. I thought it was my imagination, but the room literally exploded when my name flashed on the screen. I'm such a LUCKY GIRL!

My prize was $75 plus a "get out of the slush pile" card for Deseret Book and Covenant Publishing. WOO HOO!!!

AGENT: I pitched my YA Paranormal, "Aquatara: The Water Spirit" to Nephele Tempest of The Knight Agency and she requested I send a few chapters to her. I know she asked several others for their works, but I can't help to be hopeful. She also said to send "Blood Bound." I'd queried her in January, but since I haven't heard from her and she didn't remember it, she thinks it got lost in a computer glitch. So she'll be looking at TWO NOVELS. YAY!!! Will keep you informed on that one.

SOOOO....that means I have THREE books to work on getting ready for submission. I'm going to be working like crazy. Or going crazy. OR BOTH.
