My First Taste of Paranormal

The past couple days I haven't been able to get my mind to let loose of a movie I saw years ago. I've searched high and low for it, because it was my first taste of paranormal and I loved it. But without the title or any of the character names I always came up empty. Well, finally ready to seek help (not the mental kind--that's a lost cause) I put it on Facebook and let my friends have at it. It only took a few minutes before my friend Tina hit the right combination of words on Google and find it--an episode of an old TV series.

*drum roll please*

I wish it had a video you could watch, but the link for YouTube wouldn't open. So sad. Anyway, you can read about it by clicking on the above link.

So, thinking about old movies and TV series got me to wondering about other shows that may have influenced me and my writing. So here are two of my favorites.

A Man From Snowy River is a coming of age story about a boy who has to prove himself to the mountain men in order to earn his right to live among them after his dad dies. It also has romance in it. This video is of my favorite part. I still get chills when he rides right past the big strong mountain men and takes off down the cliff to capture the wild horses. YAY!!

Somewhere In Time is a perfect romance. I love time travel and always have to have an element of romance in everything I write. I LOVE LOVE this movie and the musical score that goes with it.

So, there ya have it. A few of my favorites. I've heard over and over what books influenced writers, but I want to know what movies or TV series influenced how you write or what you like to read. Don't be shy.
