For some, Easter is just another time to color eggs and eat more candy, but for me it's a time to celebrate the resurrection of my Savior. While my boys were small, we participated in all the traditional events--Easter Egg Hunts, visiting the Easter Bunny at the mall, just to name a few. But we've never forgotten the true meaning of Easter. Now that my youngest is sixteen, we've decided to forgo the hoopla and truly invite the spirit of this holiday into our home. There are no Easter decorations. No colored eggs. No bowls or baskets of candy. Instead, we will listen to conference and try to take the messages into our hearts.
I'd like to share a video with you. I watched it for the first time this morning and not only wept, but found myself thanking the Lord for the sacrifices the Savior made on my behalf. I hope the spirit touches you in the same way. From my family to yours, Happy Easter.
I Stand All Amazed
I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me
Confused at the grace that so fully he proffers me
I tremble to know that for me he was crucified
That for me, a sinner, he suffered, he bled and died
Chorus:
Oh, it is wonderful that he should care for me enough to die for me
Oh, it is wonderful
Wonderful to me
I marvel that he would descend from his throne divine
To rescue a soul so rebellious and proud as mine
That he should extend his great love unto such as I
Sufficient to own, to redeem and to justify
(Repeat chorus)
I think of his hands, pierced and bleeding to pay my debt
Such mercy, such love and devotion can I forget?
No, no, I will praise and adore at the mercy seat
Until at the glorified throne I kneel at his feet
I stand all amazed at the love Jesus offers me
Secure in the promise of life in his victory
Thus ransomed from death I will live to my Savior's praise
And sing of his goodness and mercy through endless days
Oh! Christine, you are such an awesome person. I love you! ((Hugs))
