Happy Thanksgiving

As the annual Turkey Day approaches, I find myself reflecting upon those things that most people take for granted, like a wonderful husband that pampers me and a son that tells me he loves me and that I'm beautiful. Why is it that we need an occassion to think about the important things in our lives?

It reminds me of a friend I had before I was married. Her name was Beth. I'd gone to Ogden with her one weekend and as we were walking out the door to attend church that Sunday morning, I asked her if she wanted me to lock the front door. She turned to me and said, "Why, everything of importance is with us." She meant her family of course.

That simple statement has stuck with me for over 24 years and even though I lock my front door, I always think about what she said when I do. I am so grateful for my family and the way they make me an important part of their lives. I hope you all feel the same way. Mend those fenses and forgive those that anger you. Life is too short and family is too precious.

Happy Thanksgiving.
