Last week my family went camping at Petit Lake here in Idaho. When I was young, my parents would take us there several times during the summer. It was "our place". I was so excited to be there again. I told my husband it was like going home. When we first drove up there and pulled up to the lake, I actually started crying. I'm such a softy.
Anyway, besides the dang mosquitos, we had a great time. My husband took over all the cooking with his dutch ovens and I got to sit back and relax. I took my laptop and our generator and actually finished my book, "Taming the Heart". It was fitting that I wrote the last word in the mountains since a huge chunk of the book takes place on Black Creek Mountain. We celebrated with my husbands upside down pineapple cake (dutch over of course).
I feel so rejuvinated. I came straight home and started on book 2, "Healing the Heart". I wouldn't want my characters to think I've abandoned them, after all.
It sounds like you had a great vacation! And good luck on the book. :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun! I'm glad to hear you're working on book #2. I enjoyed what I read of the first book. It's one of the best things I've read lately. I can't wait to see what happens!
ReplyDeleteLove the pictures. What a beautiful place. No wonder it brought tears to your eyes and inspired words to flow. How blessed you are to have a place like that to go to.
